Gigs, Geeks, and God: Milwaukee’s G3 Conference

G3 conference

What happens to your parish brand identity when your parish collaborates or clusters with others? LPi’s Vice President of Marketing, Carin Winghart, shared best practice tips at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s G3 conference on Thursday, January 11th.

The conference was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Milwaukee, WI and drew attendees across ministerial lines, from pastors and DREs to business administrators and IT professionals. A changing religious landscape across the United States requires adaptability and collaboration on the part of the average parish. These collaborations often bring tensions between staff and parishioners. LPi’s presentation, “Parish Branding in a Changing Environment,” provided practical advice for parishes new to the collaboration process and included the testimonial of Fr. Russ Arnett, Parish Administrator of four collaborating parishes in southern Wisconsin.

No two collaborative, multi-site church situations are the same. Whether your parish is sharing a faith formation program, merging parish administration, or combining websites, aligning around a common mission is essential. A unique visual identity for your collaborative effort has the power to unite your parishes and invite newcomers. Engaging more people in their Catholic faith has eternal significance, and is far more powerful than the geography or history that once separated your efforts.
