Q: What is an Online Giving Management System?
A: WeShare, LPi’s Online Giving Management System, allows you to manage the donations of your parish efficiently, effectively, and securely. It is an automated means for your members to support your church financially through one-time or recurring contributions, as well as a tool to manage all parishioner transactions (event tickets, fundraising collections, school fees, etc.).
Q: Can our members still donate using weekly envelopes?
A: Absolutely. Although Online Giving replaces the need for weekly envelopes, donating through WeShare will not be mandatory for all parishioners.
Q: What if parishioners feel uncomfortable not having something to physically drop into the collection basket?
A: Don’t worry! We provide a printable form that can be put into the collection basket that says, “We lovingly made our donation through WeShare.”
Q: How do parishioners change their personal information such as their bank account number, mailing address, or donation amount?
A: Parishioners can make these changes themselves by visiting their church’s WeShare Web site, or by calling their parish office. Donors can plan their contributions for the entire year—or they can change their donation amount online whenever they like.
Q: Which payment methods are accepted?
A: A church can choose to allow contributions from checking accounts, savings accounts, debit cards, or major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Q: Do parishioners receive receipts for their donations?
A: Yes, all contributors enrolled with WeShare can elect to receive receipts via e-mail.
Q: How do we get our parishioners to sign up with WeShare? Is this time-consuming?
A: We know how valuable your time is and we want to make online giving as easy as possible for your parish staff. That’s why we provide (free of charge) marketing materials and pre-written communications to help your parishioners get on board.
Q: Is WeShare safe?
A: Yes. WeShare is certified with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS) as a Level 1 Service Provider. We implement the safest security standards for online transactions, and you will never be responsible for collecting and storing credit card or bank account information associated with WeShare.
