Step-by-Step Guide to a Parish Bulletin MAKEOVER With LPi
Parishes who print their bulletins with LPi receive a free professional bulletin redesign as part of their contract. These fully customized bulletin templates are created by our in-house multimedia design team to represent each partnering parish and help them in best communicating their mission, news, and more. LPi customers also have access to several bulletin templates designed specifically for Catholic churches inside Canva Pro (if that’s something your parish uses).

The LPi Church Bulletin Redesign Process:
Here’s a short step-by-step outline of what to expect when working with LPi to update your parish bulletin design.
- Our Creative Services Administrator will first reach out to your parish staff via email.
- Parishes are sent a questionnaire to fill out so that our design team can learn about your community and your desires for your bulletin. This questionnaire covers which design program your church bulletin editor is using, your parish’s
brand requirements, your community’s demographics and charisms, and more.
- Along with the questionnaire, parishes are asked to send the administrator any logos or images they would like to include in the bulletin template. Churches are also welcome to send examples of other parish bulletins or newsletters that they like for inspiration. Knowing what designs stand out to you can be very helpful when designing your dream bulletin! If your parish doesn’t have a logo or your logo is outdated and needs a refresh,
we can help with that, too!
- Our multimedia design team receives your parish’s questionnaire and other content and reviews it.
Note: According to the design team, sometimes parishes skip or don’t fully fill out #5 on the questionnaire — “What are five descriptive words that describe your parish?” So, here’s a list of words to consider that might be helpful when trying to describe your parish.

- Now, our design team creates your cover and interior page templates. They use the branding information and images provided to create a cohesive design. Continuity of identity is the goal, so we aim to honor the elements of your parish that were present in your previous bulletin design. For example, if your fourth page is always dedicated to your youth ministry, we do our best to incorporate that into the new design. Or, if you always include a full spread of calendar items, we can work that in, too!
- Next, we place your bulletin’s ad pages directly into the template, so you don’t have to worry about that part! We handle it all for you by setting the margins and determining where each ad will go.
- Lastly, one of our Publishing Support Specialists will deliver your new bulletin template to you! After you receive your final design, you have the option of attending a free, customized training session on how best to use the template. This training covers topics such as understanding master pages and how to use them, uploading for weekly publishing, color schemes and fonts, how to make the best use of WeCreate, our library of Catholic content, and more. Once your bulletin editor is trained, it’s time to start publishing!

Happy publishing!
