Have you had delivery issues during the holidays in the past?

Communication goes a long way! Remind delivery drivers that you will be accepting packages during the holiday season, and that they should leave your bulletin delivery even if no one answers the door.

Keep in mind that delivery services continue to struggle due to a variety of issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Be sure to have LPi’s early transmittal schedule handy to best ensure on-time delivery of your bulletin. Your bulletin will always be accepted as early as you would like to send it, should you desire to send before the requested day throughout the holidays.

Have you ever been classified as a “known closure”?

Did you know that a simple mention of a day off can trigger a delivery driver to designate your institution as a “known closure”? If this happens, your packages will be placed in a hold trailer with hundreds of other packages, and LPi has no way of releasing them for you. Be sure to remind delivery drivers that LPi material is time sensitive.

Is your church connected to a school? Are you located on the same campus or block?

If the school declares a “closure,” the courier may assume you are also closed, and this will stop all deliveries to your location. Think ahead by considering accepting school deliveries during this time. If that is not possible, we recommend that you ship to a location not affiliated with the church or school, such as the home address of a reliable parish staff member.

Note: Veteran’s Day (Saturday, November 11) is a Federal Holiday and couriers may assume you are closed. Please assure them you are open or call to provide us with an alternate address for shipping that week.
